University of Michigan and SportStream Launch Custom Social Feed
February 1, 2013
The University of Michigan (U-M) Athletic Department has partnered with SportStream for the relase of a customised stream of news and social media that is tailored to U-M fans.
The new service was launched ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Indiana University Hoosiers. The customised social stream will deliver relevant Facebook, Twitter and news content to Michigan fans. It is also accessible at all times, and not just during games.
Jordan Maleh, Director of Digital Marketing for U-M Athletics, said: “The University of Michigan Athletic Department prides itself on providing one of the most robust social presences in college athletics. We’ve built a Facebook page that reaches more than a million fans and Twitter community that reaches over 250,000 fans. We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our resources to follow our teams and games.”
“There can be a lot of clutter and noise as it relates to social media and stats. SportStream perfects the task of gathering and streamlining the information that Michigan fans really want to know.”
Bob Morgan, CEO and co-founder of SportStream, added: “It doesn’t get much better than kicking off your college partnership program with the #1 basketball team in the country, or one with such a storied and historically strong athletic program as the University of Michigan.”
“More than that, it’s clear that the University of Michigan is a collegiate athletics leader in social media. We’re excited to help take their already-outstanding social media presence to the next level and offer fans a great experience through this partnership.”
This announcement follows SportsStream’s recent partnership with the Seattle Seahawks for a custom social feed.
