Tony Jacklin to Endorse Lynx Golf
February 7, 2014
Two times Major winner Tony Jacklin has been named a brand ambassador for Lynx Golf UK.
With an Open and US Open victory to his name, drugs alongside 12 European Tour and PGA Tour titles and a record four Ryder Cup wins, denture Jacklin remains one of the world’s most celebrated golfers.
He will represent Lynx Golf UK as its highest-profile ambassador, reflecting the family-owned brand as it continues to build an innovative, successful and passionate golf equipment business.
Said Lynx Golf UK CEO, Steve Elford: “At Lynx we are building a young, dynamic, exciting team with a huge determination to be a genuine British success. When you look at what Tony achieved as a Ryder Cup captain, alongside his own values of being passionate about golf, about it being played and represented in the right and proper way, then he is the ideal ambassador for Lynx.”
The 69-year-old star will play the Lynx Boom Boom 3 driver and woods, alongside the company’s revolutionary new ‘double cavity’ Boom Boom irons.
But Elford is keen to explain that Jacklin’s ambassadorial role extends way beyond usual equipment endorsements.
He said: “Tony will be helping us to communicate what Lynx stands for, why we are passionate about what we do and our new, fresh take on the best of ‘old-fashioned’ values like innovation, quality and commitment to superb customer service. There is tremendous synergy between Lynx, Tony as a person and whole Tony Jacklin brand. So we are delighted to have him on board.”
Lynx Golf continues to establish itself as the most forward-thinking and exciting equipment brand in Europe and is dedicated to supporting ‘green grass’ Pro shop business, with more than 400 accounts in the UK.
Tony Jacklin added: “I’m very proud indeed to become Lynx’s golf ambassador. I think Lynx is a great brand and some of my good friends including Ernie Els and Freddie Couples have represented the company over the past years.
“I love their product line and there’s the team spirit they have which works well in terms of my history with the Ryder Cup and working with successful teams.
“Overall, the quality of this brand is what drew me to it and I really believe they have a lot of strengths. I’m really excited about what’s going to happen in the next two or three years with Lynx.
“I’m going to be using the Lynx Boom Boom irons and Boom Boom woods and probably a rescue club and wedges. They’ve also got some wonderful new Harold Swash putters – Harold’s been a friend of mine for a very, very long time. He makes a wonderful product and I need a big choice of putters because that’s where I get a bit lost sometimes, so I’m very much looking forward to that.
“Lynx has also brought out some fabulous new adjustable putters and that’s what I like about them. Again, they’ve been very innovative there.”
