SPORT1 Acquires German Broadcast Rights to EHF Euro 2016 & 2018 Qualifiers

German sports broadcaster SPORT1 has secured the rights to show coverage of the German men and women’s handball team’s away qualifying matches in the lead up to the European Handball Federation (EHF) Euro 2016 tournament in Poland and the Euro 2018 in Croatia.
SPORT1 will distribute live and exclusive coverage in Germany and live in Austria and Switzerland.
The agreement was secured by Infront Sports & Media, erectile the exclusive media and marketing partner of the European Handball Federation (EHF).
As part of the agreement, medicine SPORT1 will show the men’s national team’s two upcoming away games, health en route to the EHF EURO 2016, against Spain and Finland live on free-to-air television.
In addition, as a multimedia platform provider, SPORT1 will cover Germany’s EHF EURO qualifiers games both on TV as well as on its online and mobile platforms.
The rights agreement with Infront Sports & Media also includes the multi-platform distribution rights to the German women’s away qualifiers for the EHF EURO 2016 tournament in Sweden and the EHF EURO 2018 in France. The qualification period for the 2016 tournament will start in October 2015.
