Sauber F1 Team Announce Sponsorship Deal with Dairy Maker
September 29, 2011
The Sauber Formula One team have landed a lucrative sponsorship deal with dairy giant Amul for next month’s inaugural Indian Grand Prix.
The deal ensures Amul’s logos would appear on the rear wing front face of the Sauber cars and on the helmets of Sauber drivers Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi in the Oct 30 race at Buddh International Circuit.
Sauber chief executive Monisha Kaltenborn said in a statement: “We are proud that we can announce this partnership with Amul, one of India’s leading brands.”
Dehradun-born Kaltenborn, now an Austrian citizen living in Switzerland with a German husband, left India when she was eight and trained as a lawyer.
“Amul products are present in practically every household. Having spent my childhood in Dehradun, India, I have fond memories of Amul products,” she added.
R S Sodhi, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd which manages Amul, believes the deal will ensure international exposure for India’s largest food products marketing organisation.
Sodhi concluded: “The association with the Sauber F1 Team in the Indian Grand Prix will enhance Amul’s global brand presence and put it on the global map.”
