Ricoh Arena Landlords Hold Talks with Football League to Block Coventry Move to Northampton
July 17, 2013
The landlords of the Ricoh Arena have met with officials of the Football League in an attempt to stop Coventry City ground-sharing with Northampton Town.
The League One club opted to play their ‘home games’ 35 miles away at the Sixfields Stadium after financial disputes with Ricoh owners Arena Coventry Limited (ACL).
ACL and Coventry City Council have expressed concerns that officials have not had the full facts to support the Sky Blues’ move for the next three seasons.
The Daily Mail reported that senior members of ACL have outlined the points of their argument and they hope the Football League will reconsider.
