PyeongChang 2018 & IOC Strike Marketing Deal

The PyeongChang 2018 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (POCOG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) agreed a deal to launch the Korean marketing program for the Games.
The deal allows POCOG to begin marketing with domestic companies and the IOC President, ed Dr. Jacques Rogge and PCOG Head, Kim Jin-Sun signed the Marketing Plan Agreement (MPA) at a formal press conference.
Kim said: “Today’s MPA signing is critical and meaningful as the IOC and POCOG are here to declare that the marketing plan that will lay the groundwork for the successful delivery of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games.
“This early stage of Games’ preparation is now put into action following the past year’s development of the foundation plan.”
President Rogge added: “Today’s signing of the MPA marks the moment for the local organizers to truly take ownership of their promotion and financial backing.
“You are about to embark on an exciting and rewarding journey and many opportunities await you. We are confident that you have everything in place to be highly successful with your endeavor.”
POCOG expect to earn 1.1 trillion won from domestic sponsorship deals, ticketing and licensing.
