PSG and Emirates Sign New Five Year Shirt Deal
February 4, 2013
Emirates airlines have moved a step closer to securing a new five-year shirt sponsorship with French Lique 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG’s shirts have had the Dubai-based Emirates logo since 2006 and the current deal, capsule which expires in 2014, erectile is worth $5.5m.
Boutros Boutros, Senior Vice President, Emirates, confirmed that the new deal should be completed by the end of February.
“We have a new contract for a new period for the coming five years. It’s just with the lawyers,” Boutros told the Associated Press.
“The principle has already been approved by our senior management and by the club itself.”
The deal will begin with the 2014-15 season and is thought to be similar to the $237m extension Emirates agreed with Arsenal Football Club last year.
PSG caused the biggest stir in the January transfer window last month by signing former England captain David Beckham.
Advertising from Emirates could feature Beckham, but the terms of the deal would not allow him to feature in an advert by himself.
