Special Reports: PrivatAir
August 20, 2013
A more personal challenge was taken on by two PrivatAir pilots, Francisco Agullo and Yannick Bovier, back in 2010 when they undertook a 2-month journey to celebrate the centenary of Swiss aviation by circumnavigating the globe, each in a single ‘ecolight’ aircraft. Their epic journey – illustrated by their website www.azimut270.ch – was an inspiring reflection on the distance we have all traveled in terms of technological advances and human endurance in just 100 years. Team spirit and a sense of challenge and adventure (always with the rule of safety first)– such values resonate in sport. It’s no surprise that the company is a good fit with members of the sports industry.
Another characteristic that defines the PrivatAir team and is mirrored in the world of sport is the constant search for improvement – to never rest on one’s laurels. The latest exciting development within the company is a fine example of that spirit. In 2012 PrivatAir was the driving force behind the creation of an alliance among business aviation operators. In a complex and fragmented industry, it’s a move that is clearly essential so as to make the customer experience smoother and more streamlined. All that was missing was the commitment of a leader to pull it all together. Christian Hatje, Senior Vice President Business Aviation for PrivatAir was ready for that commitment and he easily pulled in a selection of 8 European partners. In October 2012 Airclub was born with Hatje as chairman and a stated mission to be “a pioneer in business aviation, executing leadership by using agreed values, principals and processes, thereby setting new industry standards that others seek to emulate”. It’s a winning mentality, for the airlines and for the passengers.
PrivatAir’s promise is to take the best practices of the commercial airline industry and to add the flexibility and exceptional standards of service of business aviation. The Scheduled Services division helps keep that promise: PrivatAir acts as a flexible business partner, operating on chosen routes on behalf of commercial airlines such as Lufthansa. Within the Aircraft Sales & Acquisition team you can find the people who will help you through the complex and intricate task of selecting and purchasing a private jet. The Aircraft Management team then provides all the services to maintain and operate that jet. And the Aircraft Charter team makes sure at the same time that it earns its keep, by chartering it out. Overall, it’s a company that covers, with great professionalism, every aspect of business aviation.
PrivatAir, with each adventure as in its day to day activities, is forging ahead, piloted by passion, while never losing sight of the quality that makes them stand out: that dedication to the client experience – their Service d’Excellence. For the sports industry, it’s quite simply a good match.
