April 25, 2018
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has signed a two-year partnership with the Simba Group.
Under the terms of the agreement, bike manufacturer TVS, which is owned by the East African conglomerate, will serve as the official motorcycle and tricycle partner of the Nigeria national men’s football team.
The Simba Group will focus on driving engagement and promotion of football at grassroots level, and will be able to use images of the national team on its cycles.
NFF 2nd Vice President, Shehu Dikko, said: “We are partnering with the Simba Group with the objective of truly taking football to the grassroots. Scores of millions of football–passionate Nigerians use the motorcycle and the tricycle, and this is a conscious effort to reach them with the message they love so much.
“It is a two–year agreement, but our delight is that the Simba Group have committed to actively driving the engagement and promotion of the game at the grassroots. In return, they will have access to our programs and can also use the images of our national team players on their cycles.”
El Hadji Seikh, Head of Marketing at the Simba Group, added: “This is another milestone in our commitment to help give value to human life, especially when it impacts on youth, sports, our riders, and grassroots development.”
Nigeria face the Democratic Republic of Congo in a friendly next month.
