New Feyenoord Stadium in Doubt Due to Lack of Support

July 10, 2013

Feyenoord Football Club face a battle to build a new stadium after D55 councilors in Rotterdam refused to back the project.

D66 are a part of the ruling coalition in Rotterdam and therefore their decision against the new stadium make it unlikely the city council will gain a majority for the €165m ($212m) guarantee needed for the development.

The D66 party say they plan is too big of a risk and there is not enough evidence to suggest the city will benefit in terms of economy, viagra order sport and jobs.

Feyenoord’s new stadium will cost around €400m ($513m) and the council has been asked to put forward €165m ($212m).

On top of this, the council will need to invest €35m ($45m) in the land and €36m ($46m) in local infrastructure improvements.
