LFP suspends use of GoalControl technology after ‘numerous failings’
January 12, 2018
The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has suspended its goal-line technology contract with GoalControl after “numerous failings” by the German company’s system.
The technology was introduced into the French game ahead of the 2015/16 season, with GoalControl chosen to deliver the system, which is used to assist on-pitch officials.
But in the wake of two errors during Wednesday’s Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals, the LFP will reassess its options at a board meeting next week.
