France’s Evian Masters to be Fifth LPGA Major

France will soon hold the fifth golf Major on the Ladies’ PGA Tour in 2013, The Evian Masters was announced by commissioner Mike Whan.
The final Major of the year will take place in Mid September and modifications to the size of the Evian course and holes will be made, according to The Associated Press. The Tour’s other major events are the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the US LPGA Championship, the US Women’s Open and the Women’s British Open.
Commisioner Whan “In 2013 you will return to the fifth and final major on the LPGA Tour,” and added “a new page in women’s golf history”.
The tournament began in 1994 and will see a change of name from the Evian Masters to the Evian Championship when it becomes a Major.
