FIFA to Host Anti-Doping Event with WADA

July 11, 2013

FIFA will host an international conference involving the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to find ways of combating doping in sport.

The event was announced after a meeting between FIFA’s medical officials and WADA director-general David Howman.

WADA has come under increased scrutiny from Olympic sports leaders who claim the organisation is spending too much time and money on analysing tests than catching drug cheats.

The event ‘Time has come to change the strategy of the fight against doping in sport, ambulance | ’ will take place November 29-30 and will be organised by “medical representatives of international team sports federations, the IOC and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations.’

Before the conference WADA will host their own event in Johannesburg, South Africa to update the World Anti-Doping Code.
