EBU Wins Contract to Distribute Media Rights for International Biathlon Union

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has announced the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have won the bid to distribute the media rights for IBU events for the 2014/ 2015 season.  

EBU were facing stiff competition from Infront Sports and Media but IBU decided to pair with EBU.

In a statement IBU said: “At the final stage IBU went into negotiations with two bidders which are both long term, sale respected and reliable partners of the IBU, namely European Broadcasting Union/ EBU and Infront Sports and Media, resulting in two offers of high quality and perspective.

“After a thorough discussion at the IBU Executive Board meeting 109 on June 2nd 2013 in Going/ AUT and a consultation of the representatives of the National Federations according to the IBU Constitution the Executive Board decided to accept the offer of the European Broadcasting Union and to enter into respective final contract negotiations.”
