Chikarovski Appointed to Board of NSW Rugby Union
July 22, 2013
Former politician and well-established Australian business figure, hospital Kerry Chikarovski, has been appointed to the Board of the New South Wales (NSW) Rugby Union.
Chikarovski is most well-known for political career from which she retired in 2003. Since then she has gone on to found Chikarovski and Associates, a successful government relations business.
Chikarovski will succeed former Director and President Peter Medway, who is retiring. NSW Rugby Union President Tim Gavin and Chairman Nick Farr-Jones welcomed her to the board and said in a joint-statement: “I am delighted that Kerry has accepted the offer to join us. She brings a wide range of skills and energy to our Board and I believe her appointment will greatly benefit NSW Rugby Union.”
Chikarovski herself said of the appointment: “I am extremely excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity to further promote and develop the game of rugby union in NSW.”
The former State Leader of the Liberal Party, who was elected last year to chair NSW Women’s Rugby Union, is the second female member of the board after the appointment of Sally Loane in 2008.
