Ascot Secure Mappin & Webb as Silverware and Trophy Supplier

Ascot Racecourse has signed a deal with Mappin & Webb that sees the trophy producer become the designated the Official Silverware and Trophy Supplier for the famous racecourse.
Mappin & Webb has had a 75-year association with Royal Ascot and has produced many of its race trophies and cups since creating the Gold Cup for the first time in 1938.
Charles Barnett, order ed | Chief Executive at Ascot, medic said: “With an established record and an understanding of the uniqueness of Ascot, denture we are delighted to welcome Mappin & Webb as an official supplier at Ascot, with responsibility for one of the most important aspects of the Royal Meeting, making the perpetual trophies.”
The Gold Cup (1807), Ascot’s oldest surviving race, is one of only three races (30 in total) at the Royal Meeting for which winning owners receive a newly made gold trophy which becomes their property, along with the Queen’s Vase and the Royal Hunt Cup.
Mappin & Webb will also produce trophies for Ascot’s further races with Royal association run outside Royal Ascot, including the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in October.
