World Street Soccer Championships, the creator of international street soccer events and the organisers of the World Street 3s, the first ever international street soccer world championships, has secured first round funding to help drive its expansion.

The investment means that co-founder Chris Hornbuckle, formerly Head of Sponsorship at Vauxhall Motors will become Managing Director of the business with immediate effect.

First investors are Oli Slipper, co-founder of Perform and Jorg Mohaupt, serial investor in sports and entertainment.

Speaking about the investment Hornbuckle said, “This is an exciting moment for the team at World Street Soccer. Not only will this investment carry us to the next stage of our development, but to have Jorg and Oli supporting us is incredibly important.”

The first World Street 3s took place in Manchester in 2016 and an announcement about dates and venues for the 2017 event will be made shortly.
